Garces advances to Saturday's championship game with overtime win over Tulare Mission-Oak

Rams advance to championship game

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - Sheldon Croney scored six of his team-high 26 points in overtime to help the Garces Rams defeat Tulare Mission-Oak, 90-88, in a semifinal at the Garces Holiday Hoops Challenge Friday night at Garces High.

Croney sent the game to the extra frame with his putback of a missed jumper with three seconds remaining to tie the game at 75, while his adept ballhandling and ability to drive to the basket for layups consistently throughout the game was a constant problem for Mission-Oak.

The Rams advanced to the title game to take on Independence, a 46-37 winner over Bakersfield High, in the other semifinal, on Saturday night at 8:30.
