Garces girls soccer loses offensive punch in loss to Oaks Christian

BAKERSFIELD, CA - The great defense that was Garces High girls soccer couldn't hold up in a 2-0 loss to Westlake Village Oaks Christian High School Tuesday night in a CIF Division III Regional playoff game.
Even though the Lions were seeded higher (4th) than Garces (5th), the Rams earned the home contest based on their Division II Area championship.
However, after a scoreless first half, Oaks Christian scored twice in the span of nine minutes.
That was all the offense Oaks Christian needed to eliminate a game, but frustrated, Rams team in the shutout win.
