BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - Garces High head football coach Jim Maples has been placed on paid administrative leave "regarding unprofessional conduct" for behavior related to a school situation.
I spoke to Rick Sexton, Superintendent of Catholic Schools for the Diocese of Fresno, who's handling the case.
Sexton said Maples was placed on paid leave July 26, it's an ongoing investigation and there's no timetable for the investigation to conclude.
On Tuesday afternoon, 23ABC reporter Crystal Figueroa went to the Maples household seeking comment and was greeted by Maples two children, who declined comment and said Jim Maples wasn't home.
The upcoming season will be Maples second as the head man of the Rams, who won a Division II Valley title in 2012, his first season as the Garces head coach.
