BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - Garces guard Tim Pena's rebound basket of an airball lifted the Rams to a 56-54 victory over El Segundo Thursday night at Garces High in a quarterfinal of the Garces Holiday Hoops Challenge.
Pena grabbed teammate Rashaad Jackson's airball and banked a shot off the glass to beat the final buzzer and stop the Eagles comeback.
El Segundo trailed by 13 points early in the 4th quarter but got even on a three-pointer with 17 seconds left before Pena's heroics advanced the Rams to Friday night's semifinal round.
