BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - The Golden Valley boys soccer team, the top seed in Division II, advanced to the championship game with a 2-1 semifinal win Tuesday night over fourth-seeded Sanger.
The Bulldogs scored two first-half goals and made them stand up as both teams endured a downpour for most of the contest.
Sanger scored on a free kick in the second half but couldn't get a subsequent tying goal as the Bulldogs see their season continue.
