Kennedy head football coadh Shawn Austin resigns this week

Austin leaves Kennedy in a tough position

DELANO, Calif. - In a stunning move regarding a local coach, Kennedy head football coach Shawn Austin resigned from his post effective immediately.

Austin left the Thunderbirds after just one season to become the defensive coordinator at Concordia University in Selma, Alabama.

Kennedy was only 2-9 last season but won their first-ever varsity football games in the school's history as the program seemed on the verge of gaining stability

Kennedy athletic director Les Lucas wanted to have a new hire by the end of this week but so far there's been no word on Austin's successor.
