BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - Liberty won the first two games but couldn't finish things and was defeated in five games by Clovis West in their Central Section Division I Championship match.

The Patriots started fast in winning the first two games and were tied at 23 in Game 3, standing only two points away from the title.

However, the Golden Eagles took Game 3, controlled the tempo of the match to win Game 4 and closed the Pats out 15-9 in the decisive Game 5.

Liberty is hoping to get an at-large bid to the state tournament.
