WASHINGTON - President Obama is meeting with Stanley Cup winners the Los Angeles Kings and Major League Soccer Cup Champions the Los Angeles Galaxy today.

The 2012 Stanley Cup Final was a showdown between the Western Conference playoff champion the Los Angeles Kings and the Eastern Conference playoff champion New Jersey Devils.

The Kings defeated the Devils four games to two, capturing their first Stanley Cup title in team history.

The Kings became the first eighth-seeded team to win the Stanley Cup since the conference-based seedings were introduced in 1994.

The Los Angeles Galaxy will be meeting the president for the second consecutive year.

The MLS Cup 2012, the 17th edition of Major League Soccer's championship match, was a rematch between the Houston Dynamo and the Los Angeles Galaxy to decide the champion of the 2012 season.

Los Angeles defeated Houston 3–1 giving the Galaxy their second-straight league title and their fourth overall.
