BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - Olympic gold medalist and Bakersfield native Jake Varner was honored by Condorstown at Rabobank Arena on Saturday night.
It was all part of 'Jersey Off Our Backs Raffle and Auction.'
The condors wore unique jerseys that mimicked the one Varner wore when he won gold after a wrestling match at the London Olympics.
After the game, the jerseys were auctioned off, with all the money going to League of Dreams.
Varner also met with fans, posing for pictures and signing autographs.
But not before he met with ticket holders and a group of kids, who had the opportunity to ask Varner questions and for advice.
Varner won Olympic gold on August 12, in the 96-kilogram freestyle event.
