BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - On Monday afternoon, the Kern Community College District Board of Trustees voted unanimously to appeal sanctions to the football program handed down by the Southern California Football Association.
The board made the decision after the meeting in an attempt to restore the Renegades 2012 state football championship, which was vacated after the team was placed on two years probation.
In addition, the team had all its wins vacated from both the 2011 and 2012 seasons due to extra benefits provided to football players by the Helmet Club, an unofficial booster organization.
