SAN DIEGO, Calif. - Over the weekend, San Diego Chargers running back Ryan Mathews was the target of harsh messages on Twitter according to the San Diego Union-Tribune.
In one of the messages, Mathews was told they hoped he and his mother get aids and die. That's just one of the plethora of hate-filled messages he's received on Twitter.
The former West High standout and 12th overall pick in the 2010 NFL draft, Mathews has had an injury-plagued three seasons with the Chargers, including missing 10 games in 2012.
Last season he rushed for 707 yards and just one touchdown, as he missed time with two broken collarbones.
