SEYL Week 8 Preview

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - Week 8 in the Southeast Yosemite League is fast approaching and teams have already separated themselves two weeks into league play. Garces and Tehachapi are the class of the SEYL while North and East are battling for third and Highland and Foothill are in a race for the bottom.

Week 7 brought a round of somewhat expected results: Garces held North to 7 points while putting up 41 and Tehachapi went into Highland's house and doubled up the scoreboard. Our player of the week was Garces running back Sheldon Croney for his three TD's on the ground in a perfectly balanced Rams attack at the Stars' stadium.

"We have to focus on the week ahead," Garces head coach Jim Maples told 23ABC when asked if his team has one eye on their final week date with Tehachapi, "our goal is to win this league and it all starts with a tough test against Foothill this Friday."
