When traveling with the family, it isn't always easy to find activities that appeal to everyone. However, a family trip to Nebraska has sights and activities that everyone in the family can enjoy. Here are just a few.

Kimmel Orchard & Vineyard

Kimmel Orchard & Vineyard in Nebraska City provides a whole day's worth of activities that the whole family can enjoy. From trailing through the vineyards and orchards to sampling wine and freshly harvested seasonal fruits, Kimmel Orchard & Vineyard is a wonderful place to spend the day. The youngest children will enjoy the fresh air and activity on this local farm, and the adults will love to sample wines at the on-site tasting bar. Open from April to December daily.

Lincoln Children's Zoo

Though the word "children" might make a day trip to the Lincoln Children's Zoo seem geared toward the youngest visitors, family members of all ages can spend a beautiful Nebraska day outside at this zoo. It's open daily from April to October, and boasts over 300 animals for the entire family to enjoy. For the youngest visitors, the Lincoln Children's Zoo offers train and pony rides. Older guests can participate in a Wednesday Scavenger Hunt around the zoo.

Omaha Children's Museum

Like the Lincoln Children's Zoo, a day at the Omaha Children's Museum can bring out the kid in anyone. From a prehistoric dinosaur display to an exhibit about speed and weather, the museum boasts 45,000 square feet of exhibit space. Its educational components can reach children of all ages, and the fun exhibits and interactive activities will excite and enthrall families vacationing in Nebraska. The museum is closed on Mondays and major holidays.

Island Oasis Water Park

Is the Nebraska summer just too hot for your family? Looking for a day of relaxation and recuperation? The Island Oasis Water Park is a great choice for a family fun day in Nebraska. Between the water slides, pools and the lazy river, the Island Oasis Water Park offers something for the entire family. Children will love splashing around; adults will appreciate the opportunity to pull up a poolside chair and relax. Open during the summer.

This is another choice for family fun.
