Dense fog advisory in effect for Kern County Sunday morning

Temperatures will heat up throughout the week

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - A dense fog advisory from the National Weather Service will be in effect from 2 a.m. to 11 a.m. on Sunday for the central and southern San Joaquin valley. 

Visibility will be less than one quarter of a mile with some areas  of less than 200 feet along the San Joaquin river. Our high today was 68 degrees which is 11 degrees above average.

Air quality is unhealthy for sensitive groups today and tomorrow. Please limit your time outdoors if needed.

As the week progresses, temperatures will warm up to the mid 60's by Friday with overnight lows in the 40's. In the mountains, sunny skies will stay put throughout the week with a high of 52 by Friday. In the Kern River valley, temperatures will stay in the low 60's through Friday with overnight low's in the 30's.
