Katelyn is like many 4-year-old girls. Her dream in life is to be a princess.
Unlike most girls her age, Katelyn’s dream was put on hold as she battled cancer. But, that dream turned into a reality Wednesday thanks to Make-a-Wish Mid-Atlantic and some area businesses.
Katelyn, who lives in Waldorf, was treated to a princess-themed party at the Maryland Green Designer Show in Gambrills. She also was surprised with a completely redecorated princess-themed bedroom. Both were sponsored by Baldwin Homes.
At the party, Katelyn, who arrived in a limo, was greeted by a real-life Rapunzel princess (courtesy of Princess by Heidi) and food and treats provided by Chick-fil-A of Waugh Chapel. She was joined at the party by her 2- and 6-year-old sisters, her mother and active duty father. The party also had a cupcake tower donated by Cupcake Boulevard in Gambrills.
Katelyn, who is in remission, had her bedroom redecorated by Alexandra Liff of Maryland Paint and Decorating. Her new princess room includes Rapunzel and princess wall decals, a princess bed and princess dress hung around her room.
