BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - A group of local woman will come together Wednesday during a first-of-its-kind event in support of breast cancer awareness.
The first annual 'Bakersfield Boob Bash' will be held from 6:00 - 9:00 p.m. at La Mina Cantina at 8020 District Boulevard in Southwest Bakersfield.
Jessica Hill, the organizer for the event, says it will raise funds and awareness in the community.
"It started as just a fun idea for pink extensions, and it grew into something amazing."
According to Hill, La Mina Cantina will also be contributing a portion of the proceeds to the cause.
According to breastcancer.org, about one in every eight women will develop breast cancer during their lifetime. If detected early, the five year survival rate is over 90%.
