Bakersfield Police arrest one in connection with deadly hit and run on Q Street

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - Bakersfield Police arrested one man in connection with a deadly hit and run on Q and 31st streets, Thursday.
Anthony Morales, 29, was arrested after police recognized a car that looked similar to the one involved in the accident on the 2500 block of P Street around 2:30 a.m.
According to police, 59-year-old Yvonne Shelley Cupis, was walking in the roadway outside of a crosswalk when she was struck by the car, Tuesday afternoon.
Cupis succumbed to her injuries at the scene, police said.
Morales could be charged with hit and run causing a death, driving on a suspended license and vehicular manslaughter.
