Costco's loading dock on Rosedale Highway caught fire early Monday morning.
At about 2 a.m., Kern County firefighters said a large pile of cardboard boxes caught fire and damaged the store's loading area.
The blaze didn't extend into the store.
There is no word on the cause of the fire.
