Grand opening of phase two of State Farm sports village ,Friday

Include 4 soccer and 4 football fields

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - Phase two of the State Farm Sports Village, which includes four soccer and four football fields, is set to open Friday afternoon. 

The sports complex will be opened as of 5:30 p.m. on Friday with a ribbon cutting ceremony, and a performance by the LA Galaxy street team an hour before. 

Officials said that this phase will also include restrooms, landscaping, a parking lot, purple pipe system for irrigation, and Wi-Fi provided by Bright House Networks. 

The new 27 acre phase cost about $3.905 million.

“With these additional football and soccer fields, the complex continues to develop into the premier
outdoor sports facility in the region. It is an outstanding place for the entire community to enjoy," said David Hernandez, State Farm's Vice President of Operations. 
 
Right after the opening ceremonies, youth soccer and football games will commence.
