Mission at Kern opens new transitional home for women

Six women merge back into normalcy

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - The Mission at Kern will give six women a reliant roof over their heads Thursday.

The century old home was completely renovated thanks to $80,000 donated from members of the community.

All six women have completed 12 months of rehab at the mission and will live in the home for about 9 months as they transition back into society.

The three bedroom, 2 bathroom home is almost complete but the mission says they still need your help to donate a few items.

They still need gently used patio furniture, any children's toys and a BBQ, you can drop your donations off at the mission at 816 E. 21st Street.
