BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - Seniors will get an early-bird special Friday at the Kern County Fair.
Friday is Senior Day -- and seniors 55 and above will get in for free, starting at 9:00 a.m.
Opening ceremonies and entertainment will take place on the Main Plaza Stage, including welcoming remarks by Bakersfield Mayor Harvey Hall, Kern County Supervisor Mike Maggard, and several others.
Exhibit buildings open at 10:30, and free health screenings will be offered at the GEMCare exhibit booth.
Free parking will be offered until 4:00 p.m.
The fair will open for general admission at 1:00 p.m.
