State Farm Sports Village Phase II Grand Opening

What: The grand opening of Phase II of the sports village will unveil 27 acres of soccer and football fields. 

Where: Soccer Complex at Bakersfield Sports Village, 9001 Ashe Road, Bakersfield, California. Entrance is on Ashe Road, north of Taft Highway

Disney Casting for McFarland Movie

What: Walken Jaffe Casting is currently casting for a Disney movie this upcoming weekend in McFarland. The movie is inspired by the true story of a group of boys who joined a cross country team. 

Where: The Holiday Inn located at 3927 Marriot DriveAuditions will be in Brighton Room #1.

When: Friday, 6-10 p.m. Saturday, 10 a.m.-3p.m.

Buttonwillow will help Keep Kern Clean

What: A call for volunteers is being made to help clean up trash and litter on various streets and alleys throughout Buttonwillow. A thank you lunch will be provided to volunteers at Buttonwillow Park following the clean-up.

Black Jack tournament benefit Bakersfield Police Activities League

What: Play in a black jack tournament while supporting the Bakersfield Police Department. There will be cash prizes for the top three winners in the tournament.
