A major computer hack attack on JPMorgan Chase and at least one other US bank is under investigation by the FBI, according to a report.
Bloomberg News reports the FBI is looking into possible Russian ties to the attack, which occurred in mid-August and resulted in "the loss of gigabytes of sensitive data."
The attack is said to be highly sophisticated and beyond the scope of ordinary criminal hackers, pointing to possible involvement by a government.
The attack occurred in the wake of Western economic sanctions against Russia and its major banks over incursions into Ukraine.
There was more unsettling news on Thursday when two columns of Russian tanks moved into Ukraine, according to a top Ukrainian official.
