There are times when you just want ... something, but you can't put your finger on it. So oftentimes, you just end up saying, "Surprise me."

At SomethingStore.com, that's the whole idea -- to surprise yourself or someone else. And it will only cost you $10.

The company has a warehouse full of "somethings," from gadgets to books to games, that may be brand new, refurbished or antique. Your something could be a handmade necklace, a pair of jeans, a gift card, software or a box of chocolates.

As Forest Gump says, "Life is like a box of chocolates. You never know what you're gonna get."

It's the same way with the SomethingStore, which sells randomly chosen items to people.

All you have to do is place an order on the Web site. The $10 price tag includes free delivery within the United States. The shipping fee for international orders is $4.75 for Canada and $8.75 for all other countries.

A random item will be shipped within seven business days and an e-mail will be sent to the purchaser to confirm the shipment.

The Web site has a Something Tracker that shows some of the things that have recently been shipped. The site offers daily highlights as well as a range of items that the Web site sends.

"We want you to have fun with this again and again, so we will try our best to send valuable, interesting and unique items each time," the Web site says. "Yes, some items will be more expensive than others in terms of their monetary value, but we believe eventually it's your perception that will decide what your something is worth."

And though you can be sure you will get something, don't expect to get just anything.

The Web site says that for legal reasons and to stay within the parameters of its company policy, there are some restrictions. They're called Something ... Nots.

The no-no list includes adult goods and services, body parts, alcohol, drugs, gaming paraphernalia such as lottery tickets, among others things.

When you get your something, you may find that you need it or want it. You may even find that you hate it. But no matter what, you are sure to be surprised by whatever you get.

"If anything can be sold on the Internet, why not something?" the Web site asks. "Is it dumb? Or is it brilliant? Something in between? We couldn't decide ... so you can decide."
