BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — The Kern County Coroner's Office identified 22-year-old Gavino Pelayo as the man killed in a crash in Central Bakersfield Saturday morning.

According to the Bakersfield Police Department, officers responded to a collision just after 1:30 a.m. Saturday morning for a single-vehicle rollover.

Police said the Pelayo was traveling eastbound on 23rd Street, near C Street where the road curves at a high rate of speed when his vehicle hit the curb flipped over. He was ejected him from the vehicle.

Officials also said Paleyo was not wearing a seat belt and died at the scene from his injuries.
