SHAFTER, Calif. — Jasmin's Bakery and Donuts on Sunset Avenue in Shafter was closed by the health department after receiving an inspection score of 61%.
According to public health, inspectors found cockroaches throughout the bakery and an active vermin infestation. Inspectors also observed multiple ceiling tiles in disarray, uncovered lighting and an excessive build-up of grease and debris.
Inspectors said they found dirt or wood chips in the sugar, inadequately covered food and unclean equipment.
The bakery was closed as of Monday. They can reopen was they address these violations and pass a new inspection.
