Two teens arrested for stabbing in East Bakersfield on Monday night

On November 21, 2016 at about 9:15 p.m., deputies were dispatched to a stabbing at the Play Fair Market at South Union Avenue and Adams Street.

Upon arrival, deputies located the 31-year-old male victim. The victim had stab wounds to his left arm that were non-life threatening. The victim was transported to Kern Medical for treatment.

The victim stated he was involved in an altercation with three males. During the altercation, the victim was stabbed. The suspects fled the area on foot. Deputies searched the area and located two suspects hiding at the rear of the property at 1102 South Union Avenue. Both suspects were detained and later arrested.

The suspects were identified as Marco Cruz, 18, and Trent Lafond, 18.

Cruz was arrested for assault with a deadly weapon and conspiracy to commit a crime. He was booked into the Sheriff’s Office Central Receiving Facility. His bail has been set at $35,000.

Lafond was arrested for conspiracy to commit a crime. He was booked into the Sheriff’s Office Central Receiving Facility. His bail has been set at $10,000.
