At The Table: PorkChop and Bubba's a new BBQ spot in Bakersfield

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - A new restaurant in town, may not be new to some. PorkChop and Bubba's, known to many in Bakersfield for catering events, festivals, and more, now has their own restaurant.

Owners Branden and Ashley have been catering for 5 years and knew they always wanted to open a permanent restaurant. Not only are they known in town, they are known around the country for their award winning BBQ. PorkChop and Bubba's competed in many BBQ competitions and took home various awards.

You can now eat this award winning BBQ daily, but it is a bit different than what you may be used to. Chef Branden is showcasing a unique type of BBQ that combines the best of southern styles and adds a California flair.

Some dishes may look odd with the addition of Wonder Bread, pickles, and onions on the plate. You will also not see any BBQ sauce on the meat (though it is on the side for personal use). Branden says this is how he stays true to certain styles of southern cooking.

You will find brisket, pulled pork, ribs, and more rubbed in a house-made seasoning. The menu also has salads, sandwiches, and many sides like SPUDchos!

Try this new style of BBQ hitting Bakersfield today!
