The Bakersfield Police Department hosted its second community meeting for 2016 on Saturday at Martin Luther King Jr. park. The community was invited for a day of fun, education and community involvement with the bomb squad, S.W.A.T. Team, K-9 Unit, Traffic Detail and several other members of BPD.

The goal was to focus on the issues and concerns in east Bakersfield police zones.

BPD in coordination with the Kern County Auto Theft Taskforce (KCATT) and several other organizations handed out auto theft deterrent devices know as "The Club" to registered owners of certain vehicles.

Any left over devices will be handed out at Target on Stockdale Highway on Saturday October 22, 2016 between 8 a.m. and noon.
