BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — According to the Kern County Fire Department, crews responded to a house fire in East Bakersfield early Monday morning.
KCFD arrived on the scene of a house fire at around 2 a.m. and found smoke coming from "the front door and the eaves of the home." Crews were able to quickly extinguish the flames.
Four children and two adults were able to evacuate the home prior to the arrival of fire crews thanks the presence of smoke detectors in the home. One of the residents suffered a minor injury while evacuating the home and was transported to a local hospital.
Damage to the home is estimated at about $25,000. The cause of the fire is unknown at this time.
