On October 26, 2017 and October 27, 2017 fifth through eighth graders will get the opportunity to take part in STEM learning activities in the Taft College Library.
Students participating will be have the opportunity to rotate through the Mobile Oilfield Leaning Unit every 90 minutes which consists of six self-contained components with curriculum-based hands-on learning activities about energy and the technologies as well as the sciences involved with the oil and natural gas industry.
The Offshore Energy Center developed the concept of the Mobile Oilfield Learning Unit which is a $1.2 million engaging, traveling, and educational exhibit.
Students who participate in STEM learning activities will receive an event t-shirt, snacks, and/or lunch on the Taft campus.
General Production Services and Chevron are sponsoring the two day event on campus.
