BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — "A curveball. It is what it is," was Joe Kelly's response about his pitch Tuesday night and the Fox Theater is standing behind him.
The theater's marquee posted the message "Thank you Joe Kelly" Wednesday for the Los Angeles Dodgers reliever.
Kelly was suspended eight games for his actions against the Houston Astros. The message was on the marquee before Kelly’s suspension was announced.
The league outlined Kelly was suspended for throwing a pitch “in the area of the head of Alex Bregman and later taunted Carlos Correa, which led to the benches clearing.”
Joe Kelly is appealing the suspension and is eligible to pitch in Wednesday’s game.
