Former NFL defensive end Jeremy Staat starred at Arizona State on the gridiron, played in the NFL for multiple teams, but most importantly, he served his country in the United States Marine Corps.

Staat joined the Marine Corp in 2006 in the wake of former Arizona State teammate, Pat Tillman's death in Afghanistan. Following his time in the Marines, Staat returned to Arizona State in 2009 to finish his degree. He completed his master's degree and returned to his hometown where he is an associate professor at Bakersfield College.

The Kern County native shared a Facebook post with 23ABC showing his jersey from his time playing with the Pittsburgh Steelers on display at the new sports Hall of Fame wing at the National Museum of the Marine Corps in Triangle, Virginia.
