November is National Adoption Awareness Month, and Kern County is joining in the celebration.

The Kern County Board of Supervisors kicked off the month with a proclamation at their meeting Tuesday.

Kern County’s 14^th Annual National Adoption Day will be held Friday, November 18.

Nearly 2,000 children are in “out-of-home” placement in Kern County.
