Kern County Fire Department puts out fire that threatened multiple homes

On Thursday morning at around 7 a.m., the Kern County Fire Department responded to a fire that threatened multiple homes in the 700 block of Woodrow Avenue.

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — On Thursday morning at around 7 a.m., the Kern County Fire Department responded to a fire that threatened multiple homes in the 700 block of Woodrow Avenue.

According to the KCFD, the fire was located behind a home and involved multiple sheds. The fire produced a large about of smoke that "could be seen from a great distance away."

Firefighters were able to extinguish the before it could damage any of the surrounding homes. However, the fire did $20,000 in damage to the structures.

The fire involved 13 personnel from both the Kern County and Bakersfield fire departments.
