On May 18, at about 10 a.m., Jesus Castillo, 48, of Bakersfield and Johnny Salinas, 40, of Delano, were arrested on several charges, including grand theft and embezzlement from their place of employment.

Delano police detective’s began working with The Wonderful Company several weeks ago, which concluded with Castillo and Salinas’ arrest.

The investigation determined Castillo and Salinas were advising current and potential outside vendors, that in order for them to sustain and/or obtain contracts with The Wonderful Company, the vendors were required to provide Castillo and Salinas with compensation or monetary payment, according to police.

Several times, vendors were harassed and intimidated when the compensation or monetary payment was not delivered, police said.

Overall, approximately $100,000.00 in cash, miscellaneous motorcycle parts and electronics were extorted and embezzled from the vendors and The Wonderful Company. During the investigation, a third suspect was identified and arrested.

These items included a fork lift, scrap metal, miscellaneous tools and water pumps. A search was conducted upon Cisneros’ residence where the Fork Lift and some of the other stolen items were recovered.
