Search warrant sheds new light on David Silva investigation

Silva was in KMC triage area hours before incident

Court documents are shedding new light on the final moments of David Silva's life.

A search warrant obtained by 23 ABC shows Silva was in the triage area at Kern Medical Center several hours before the incident and was referred to the Mary K Shell Center across the parking lot.

Sheriff's investigators asked the judge for the security camera footage from both facilities as well as any medical records.

The warrant shows detectives took footage from both and 32 pages worth of records from KMC.

Detectives say they need the evidence as they try to determine if Silva was having a medical emergency or a mental health crisis at the time of his arrest.

Sheriff Donny Youngblood has announced he will hold a press conference regarding the investigation on May 23rd at 3 p.m.

The press conference will be streaming live on our website and our 23 ABC mobile / tablet app.
