This year for the first time thousands of competitors will battle tough terrain at the Tejon Ranch for the Spartan’s Southern California “Beast and Sprint,” weekend.

This is one of the world’s largest obstacle endurance races and it brings racers of all ages and skill levels to Tejon Ranch for two days of competition.

Racers will compete in a three to five-mile sprint race and a thirteen mile beast raceconquering obstacles like the spear throw, barbed wire crawl and monkey bars.

Tejon Rach is located just an hour north of Los Angeles, and offers a landscape of rugged mountains, steep canyons, oak-covered rolling hills, and broad valley making it the ideal location for athletes to test their endurance.

The weekend also features a Spartan kids race course with age specific distances and obstacles for kids 4 to 13 years-old.

Tickets range from $100 to $200. As long as the race does not sell out participants can even register at the race itself! As of now all of the Saturday Beast race heats are sold out except for the Elite Women's category. Both the Beast and Sprint races on Sunday still have some room available.
