On November 24, 2016, around 11:52 p.m., an officer of the McFarland Police Department was on patrol and spotted a motorcycle driving in the area of 1st Street and West Kern Avenue.
The officer attempted to stop the motorcycle for vehicle code violations. The subject, later identified as 27-year-old McFarland resident Luis Ramos, failed to yield. The officer then pursued the motorcycle for several blocks before Ramos lost control of the motorcycle at Lockwood Avenue and 3rd Street, where he then fled on foot.
The officer chased after Ramos and took him into custody with the assistance of other responding officers.
It was determined the motorcycle was reported stolen out of Adelanto, California.
Ramos was booked into the Kern County Sheriff's Central Receiving Facility for charges of evading an officer, resisting arrest and possession of stolen property.
