Suspect 'looking' for friend, forces his way into woman's apartment

Suspect wanted for sexual assault and burglary

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - The Bakersfield Police Department is asking for the community’s assistance in identifying a suspect wanted for sexual assault and residential burglary.

On Oct. 4, Bakersfield Police Officers were sent to an apartment complex located in the 3700 block of Q Street regarding a report of a sexual assault.
Officers said they learned that a woman was in her apartment when she heard a knock on her front door.
The woman said she opened the front door and came in contact with a man who claimed he was looking for his friend and forced his way into the apartment.
As the woman struggled with the man, officers said she fell to the floor and the man attempted to remove her clothing.
Officers said the woman continued fighting with the man and screamed for help at which point the man stopped his actions and ran away.
The man was described as being in his 30s, 6 feet tall with a thin build. He has dark brown hair, wearing dark pants, white or gray t-shirt, and carrying a black and white back pack.
