Teenager shot during robbery at Silver Creek Park

Bakersfield Police is searching for a suspect connected to a robbery shooting at Silver Park.

The shooting happened Friday night at 8:03 p.m. at the park located on the 7000 block of Harris Road.

BPD said they received multiple calls reporting a victim of a shooting.

When officers arrived witnesses told them that two suspects, described as Hispanic male teenagers, approached several people in park.

One of the suspects brandished a handgun and demanded their belongings. 

BPD said during the robbery, the suspect shot a teenage male in the leg. 

The teen was transported to the hospital where he is being treated for non-life threatening injuries. 

Both suspects fled the park with the victim's belongings.

Later, officers located and arrested one of the juvenile suspects with the firearm that was used in the shooting. 

The second suspect remains at large. He is described as a White or Hispanic male, approximately 16-years-old, wearing all black clothing and carrying a blue backpack.
