Man Accused Of Christmas Eve Killing Surrenders

The Bakersfield Police Department said the man wanted in connection with a Christmas Eve killing has turned himself in.

Police said that on Dec. 24, at about 1:30 a.m., they were sent to the Elks Lodge at 1414 East California Avenue regarding a shooting.

Officers said they found 21-year-old Jimmy Leon Pollard to the rear of the building, suffering from a gunshot wound to his chest.

Pollard was taken to Kern Medical Center and was pronounced dead at 2 a.m.

The investigation revealed that 25-year-old Roniele Delouth was involved in a physical altercation with Pollard.

Officers said that during the fight, Delouth shot Pollard.

On Monday, Delouth turned himself in to detectives at the BPD.

Delouth was booked on charges of murder and participation in a criminal street gang, police said.
