Miramonte High School Coach Pleads Not Guilty To Sex With Minor Charges

Saul Noe Lopez Pleads Not Guilty

The Mira Monte coach accused of having sex with a student has pleaded not guilty Friday morning to charges of unlawful sex with a minor.

Officers said that around 11 p.m. Feb. 24, detectives arrested Saul Noe Lopez, 31, on charges of unlawful sexual intercourse with a juvenile.

Lopez was a Migrant Community Specialist and girls varsity soccer coach for Miramonte High School at 1800 South Fairfax Road.

The investigation began with the Kern High School District Police on Feb. 24, when a local merchant reported to them a school employee, operating a Kern High School District van, had purchased condoms at his store, Sgt. Mary DeGeare said.

Further investigation on behalf of the KHSD police led to the identification Lopez as the individual who purchased the condoms and the identification of a 16-year-old victim/student, DeGeare said.
