Ross Dress for Less and Burlington Coat Factory announce temporary furloughs in Kern due to COVID-19

BAKERSIFELD, Calif. — Ross Dress for Less and Burlington Coat Factory announced temporary furloughs at locations throughout Kern County due to COVID-19.

According to WARN letters sent to the Kern County Board of Supervisors, Ross said the furloughs commenced on April 5 and will affect over 1,500 employees. Ross said the furloughs apply to employees at the distribution center in Shafter, as well as retail stores throughout Bakersfield and Delano.

Burlington said that temporary furloughs were announced for all California store locations between March 31 to April 12. All stores were closed due to the announcement.

According to the WARN letter, Burlington said it is furloughing 57 associates at the Lancaster locations and 83 at its Bakersfield location.
