BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — Kern County Sheriff's officials and their Activities League are hosting the 16th Annual Fishing Derby on Saturday at the Park at Riverwalk.

This event will raise money for the Kern County Sheriff’s Department Activities League which is dedicated to shaping the youth.

Prizes will be given to the top three finishers in different categories. There will also be face painting and raffles.

Participants 16 and older are required to have a valid fishing license and everyone must bring their own gear.

Registration for the event will start at 6 a.m. and the event runs until Noon.

The admission prices for ages 17 and under are $8 and $15 for ages 18 and up.
