BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — Bakersfield City School District employees will receive a raise for the 2018-2019 school year.

Through negotiations with the Bakersfield Elementary Teachers Association (BETA), BCSD reached a "tentative agreement" on March 19.

Employees represented by BETA will receive a 2 percent raise on the salary schedule. In addition, all employees represented by BETA will receive a one-time bonus for 2 percent of whatever their current salary is.

BCSD has a total of 1729 employees represented by BETA. The raise and bonus will cost the district $7.8 million.
