2017 has been a year filled with the deaths of several notable celebrities.

Most recently, 1970s icon David Cassidy, of "The Partridge Family," died after suffering from organ failure. Two days prior, country music legend Mel Tillis left the world at age 85.

Other stars who left us in 2017 include game show host Monty Hall, who died in September at age 96. And just after a 50-show tour, music great Tom Petty died at 66. 

There were many, many more.
