Man dies after shooting in Central Bakersfield, BPD looking for suspects

UPDATE (May 18, 2017 12:02 p.m.): The Colony Square Apartment released a statement on the shooting:

"Colony Square Family Apartments along with WSH Management are devastated that this tragedy has occurred at the apartment community. Full cooperation has been offered to the Bakersfield Police Department to assist them in solving this crime. Additional private patrol was authorized effective immediately, and the securing of perimeter entries along with surveillance measures have been initiated. If you have any information that could help solve this crime please contact the Bakersfield Police Department immediately."

UPDATE (4:46 a.m.): Bakersfield Police say the victim in Tuesday night's shooting has died. 

The shooting was reported around 9:15 p.m. in the area of 38th Street off M Street. BPD found a man shot multiple times. He was taken to Kern Medical where he later died. He has not been identified.

Police say the suspects are four men who were wearing dark clothes. 

BPD says a person was taken into custody on 35th and O streets, a few blocks from the shooting. That person was taken into custody for possessing a gun. BPD says it has not yet been determined whether that person has any connection to the shooting.

Bakersfield police are currently investigating a shooting in central Bakersfield. A suspect in possession of a firearm was arrested near The Willows apartments on 38th and M streets.

No word yet on if there was any victims in the shooting and no suspect information has been released. The investigation is ongoing.
