Doctors say no data to suggest COVID vaccine side effects for cancer patients

(KERO) — There isn't much known about how COVID vaccines affect cancer patients making many hesitant to get the shot.

However doctors say there isn't any data to suggest there would be serious side effects from the vaccine itself. They say any protection is still better than none especially in cancer patients who have weaker immune systems.

But it is important for cancer patients to talk to their providers first to see if there's any reason they should not get the shot.

Cancer patients will soon be eligible for vaccine trials as well as other populations like young children and pregnant women.
