Bakersfield Police officers assisted the Fairfield Police Department with apprehending a suspect wanted for his involvement in a murder that occurred within their jurisdiction.
The Fairfield Police Department had developed information that the suspect had fled to Bakersfield after the offense.
According to police, on Monday, August 10, officers located the suspect, 21-year old Mario Zawaideh, in the 200 block of Woodrow Avenue. He was taken into custody with no incident. He was subsequently booked into the Kern County Jail pursuant to the arrest warrant from Fairfield for murder and gang participation.
